I'm a third generation Charles Countian.  I was fortunate to be raised on an historic property and by a family that treasured history and family.  We were free to wonder in the woods, play in the streams, and ride horses and an occasional cow!  There were four of us, and frankly I don't know how our parents did it.  I guess the "get out from under my feet" and "go outside and get some fresh air" were the reasons that I survived.

My mother's family came from Illinois and Kentucky, and my father family (although he was adopted) came from the local area and New York. I have recently found out that his birth mother died after a miscarriage when he was about 18 months with what would have been his youngest sibling.
