The first thing you need to know about the family is that it is very important to us. We were brought up not only respecting the family, but the country, church and community. My mother joined the Navy as World War II broke out while my aunt stayed at home to help emotionally support the family.

This picture is from the left to the right: Margaret Berry Brown, P D Brown, Margaret Brown Klapthor, Frances "Annie" Pole (Margaret Brown's sister) and Helen Duprey ( a close friend and Co-worker of Margaret Klapthor). A small part of the family tree is below.

PD and Margaret as well as my paternal grandmother Lorena were part of the achor that instiled in me the importance of family and community.
